I'm kind of in the mood to make something in photoshop.....

What should I do?

Being of mixed races/ethnicities can be rather annoying and difficult sometimes.

I'm not white enough for some and not island enough for others.

Is it such a fucking crime that I'm proud of my Island heritage and I claim it more than I do the caucasian side of me? Is caucasian even a heritage??? Sheesh! It's not that I'm ashamed of my whiteness (although sometimes people can make it out to be this thing of eternal shame), it's just that we don't know what ethnicity my dad is because his father never even knew his own dad!

And so what if my dad's white? He's a better father than most of the ones I've seen, be it white, brown, black, red, whatever.

I'm tired of being called "haole" or being looked at like I'm some hypocrit by Islanders who think that just because they're not white they're better and above those of us who aren't. It's not like they're even pure-blood Hawaiian either! Everyone on the islands is of mixed blood!! Just because I happen to be mixed with white doesn't mean anything!

I'm just sick and tired of being critcized and poked fun of for something that is out of my control. Yes, I am WELL aware of what the white people did to Hawaii and its people. But plenty of other races have done the same exact thing, even to their own people!, so don't go harping on me about something that I wasn't even involved in, okay!

If I wanna be proud of being Hawaiian then dammit I'm gonna be! And I'll do it in my extremely light Southern accent that sometimes get mixed with a pidgin one. And I'll do it whether I'm pale as a ghost or dark golden brown. And I'll do it whether I'm listening to some Keahiwai or to Ella Fitzgerald, and if I'm throwing back a Heineken or sipping on white wine. Some people can just go screw themselves with their own narrow mindedness!!
